Hunting
Our Hunt Seasons:
Subject to WV season regulations, we offer hunts from early September through late April.
UPLAND BIRDS: Fall and Winter
DOVE: Early September
TURKEY: April (possibly into May)
SAFETY & LICENSING:
Safety is a top priority. Safety rules are posted, reviewed, and stressed with verbal reminders prior to all activities. Blaze orange is required while hunting upland birds and deer. All hunters must possess a valid WV game license (hunting and/or fishing) and abide by all regulations set by the WV DNR .
Out of state hunters may obtain a Class J Preserve License for small game. A Big Game license is required for deer and turkey. For more about WV hunting and fishing regulations or to purchase a WV license go to: www.wvdnr.gov
SKILL LEVEL:
Novice to expert all experiences are welcome. Ask about available accommodations for those needing special assistance.
HABITAT:
Our hunting habitat is well managed with wildlife and safety in mind. Consisting of various cover and food sources which include grasses, thickets, grain fields, fence rows, and timber ridges. At Butler Farms we strive to maintain our land so you will have a safe and memorable hunt.
OUR UPLAND BIRD HUNTS:
Hunt times :
Morning hunt - 8 am to noon.
Afternoon hunt - 1 pm to 5 pm.
All day hunt - 8 am to 5 pm.
Hunt Packages:
Hunting parties are limited to 4 shooters for insurance reasons.
Combo hunt costs $ 529.00 and consists of- 4 pheasants, 4 chukars, 20 quail and Guide with dog.
Pheasants are $ 27.00 ea.
Chukar are $ 19.00 ea.
Quail are $ 13.00 ea.
We can arrange any combination of birds for your ideal hunt.
Bird cleaning and a buffet lunch are included with your hunt.
We do charge a Field Fee of $25 per field for each hunt party.
Guide and dog available for $60 + gratuity per hunt. Your well-behaved dog is welcome.
MasterCard and Visa accepted, fees do apply.
ANNUAL FALL DOVE HUNTS:
Hunt dates :
Labor Day, plus one Saturday before or after Labor Day - depending on WV regulations.
Hunt time:
We serve lunch at 12:30 once everyone has eaten we head out for a afternoon of hunting.
Price:
First day is $125.00 Second day is $100.00 Includes lunch.
Space is limited, we start taking reservations at 8am on the 1st of January and we usually fill quickly.
Following the 2 hunt dates above (for the remainder of WV's short dove season) we offer a special price of $25 per hunter for a full day of hunting on the farm.
STOCKED TROUT FISHING:
We have a stream that runs through the farm that is spring feed. The state stocks this stream during the trout season.
